On Saturday, August 15, my husband and I enjoyed an amazing afternoon at the TRUCKerton Food Truck & Brew Fest, at Tuckerton Seaport. We were graciously invited by Tuckerton Seaport, http://www.tuckertonseaport.org/ and Real Mom Media, http://www.realmommedia.com. There wasn’t only food and drinks there, but many other fun things for families to do.
TRUCKerton ran for two days at the Tuckerton Seaport. They had 25 food and dessert trucks there. With something for everyone, even the kids, to eat. There were hot dogs, pizzas, bbq, and many more. We shared a lobster roll that was served from The Original Soupman Soupmobile, http://originalsoupman.com/, the very first soup franchise on wheels! We had flavored lemonades, a dessert called a Chimney Cake, shrimp po boy and so much more. But, my all-time favorite food there was this delicous thing called a potato sandwich. It is made by 1potatotwo,http://1potatotwo.com/. I had to ask how he made this and was told they bake a potato, cut it in 1/2 and scoop out the filling, than deep fry it. Than put the fillings you requested inside. My husband and I tried their Oyster and Thanksgiving ones. These were just delicous and something so different. That was a one thing I really loved about TRUCKerton, there was so many different things to try and everything was just as delicious as the last.
Now, if you don’t want to just go and eat food all day, though I don’t know anyone who wouldn’t, there were also over 20 craft brews to try. My husband used his souvenir cup he received at the fest and tried several brews. He loved that there was so many different varieties to choose from. He sampled so many different local brews, like the Killer Beesting from Ship Bottom Brewery and Blueberry Blonde from Pinelands Brewery.
And if you had the little ones in tow, there was plenty for them to do also. Besides yummy food for them to eat, there was so much more. Tuckerton Seaport had a play area with so many cute things to play on, like a pirate ship. There was mini-golf and family crafts, a touch tank, the museum and more. Live bands to dance to. Over 40 acres of fun there. They also had amazing experiences, like meeting a bee keeper, learning the history of cranberries and hearing all about clamming and opening your own clam! I really love that it was a family friendly event. The Tuckerton Seaport really has so much to do and went out of their way to make sure that not only the adults, but also the children, had a great time.
Before we left the event we made sure to vote for our favorite food and dessert trucks of the day. You put money into a glass jar for your favorites. All the money went to support the wonderful Jetty Rock Foundation. http://jettylife.com/community/jetty-rock-foundation/
Truckerton Seaport not only holds this event, but they have many future events coming up to check out. Like the “Sea” you in September event featuring the antique and classic boat show, September 12 & 13. Or their Haunted Seaport, October 22, 23 and 24. Plus many more events. You can read all about the fun things you can do when visiting the Tuckerton Seaport in Tuckerton, NJ and all their upcoming events at http://www.tuckertonseaport.org/. We will be going back very soon!
Thank you to Truckerton Seaport and Real Mom Media for inviting us!
