In July we had the privilege of being able to visit HersheyPark in Hershey, PA for a day! I was given two tickets and purchased one on my own, my son was free since he was 2! We were given tickets to go and explore the park! Besides the delicious chocolate there, Hershey Park has so many fun things to see and do. This is my list of 5 of the fun things to do while at the park!
1.) Of course, the rides!- I mean, when you go to a theme park, you always have to do the rides. There was so much to see and do while we were there. First we got the assistance pass for my son. Sometimes he can get overwhelmed in crowds and lines, and this pass really helped us. We were able to go to the exit areas for the rides and were pretty much let right on. There was not a tear shed that day, even with the heat, because it was so easy for him. This is a wonderful thing they offer! Billy’s favorite rides were the Twin Turnpikes cars and the Carrousel.
2.) ZooAmerica!-Not only do you get the theme park rides with your tickets, but you can also visit their waterpark area, which we didn’t do that day, and ZooAmerica! My daughter is huge into animals, so this was a great learning experience for her. We walked through the entire zoo, reading all about the different type of animals and even getting some lessons from the staff. It was such a fun time! 3.) The Delicious Eats!- You can’t just go to Hershey and not have some of the delicous food and MANY chocolate treats! We shared a huge ice cream cone, had some lemonade and icees, and tried some delicious chocolate. But, the best food was when we dined at HersheyPark Place. It is an indoor, table service restaurant. We made reservations prior to going to the park, but since we were hungry alot earlier than we thought, we were able to modify the reservation right from my phone. We sat inside in the nice air and had delicious meals. They have kids meals, and so much food choices that you can’t go wrong. All reasonably priced too! Their drink and dessert menus looked amazing also, but we were so full from our food that we waited and had dessert later when we walked the park a bit! I would highly recommend this restaurant if you are in the park for the day! It is nice to get out of the heat for a bit and eat.
4.) Meeting the characters!- As you walk the park, you can meet and take pictures with many of the Hershey characters. My daughter had a blast meeting the Hershey Chocolate Bar. After we got off of one of the kiddie rides, he was walking around the kids area and we were able to ask him for a picture. They characters are so friendly and patient with the kids, it is wonderful!
5.) Chocolate World!- During our visit, it started to rain. We decided to leave the park for a little bit, got our hands stamped for re-entry on the way out, and walked over to Chocolate World. We rode the Chocolate Tour. It is a free 30-minute tour all about how the candy is made. It was nice to relax and learn at the same time. And, to top it off, we got free samples of their chocolate at the end! Read all about Chocolate World and the tour here. Plus, there are so many more things to do while there! http://www.hersheys.com/chocolateworld/locations/hershey
Our day at HersheyPark was so much fun! We can’t wait to go back again! There is so much to see and do, almost all included in your ticket price! There are also many upcoming events, like Hershey Park in the Dark for Halloween and one of my favorite times of year, Christmas time, with HersheyPark Christmas Candylane! We spent the whole day at the park and had a blast. With their wonderful food, the ease of getting an assistance pass, their fun rides and character meets.. We didn’t have a lack of stuff to do! If you are planning a trip to PA soon, definitely fit it in to spend a day at HersheyPark. Make sure to visit ZooAmerica, Chocolate World and their water rides at the Boardwalk while you are there!
