Sensory Friendly Travel

Visit Sahara Sams Waterpark & Save $6.

I had the pleasure of attending a special bloggers night at Sahara Sams Waterpark in NJ  to splash, play and hear all about the new things coming! This was our second visit to the waterpark and my kids could not wait!

When we arrived, my kids and I were greeted with some goodies and a wonderful smile by the marketing and social media manager, Sharon. Sharon told me about the nights festivities and even walked me in to the waterpark since I was alone and had a stroller and two kids. She does not know how much this Mom appreciated that little bit of help.

When we got inside, my son immediately wanted to run and play in the water. The first thing I did was put on his life vest. Because of my son’s sensory issues, we have our own vest that we know he is comfortable wearing. What was great though, was Sahara Sams had life vests out for anyone to use, for free! This was such a great thing, because some other waterparks we have been to, if you don’t bring your own you need to rent theirs.

Once his vest was on, we headed right to the water. The first place my son ran was of course to the Lizard Lagoon. This area is great for babies and toddlers. My daughter had fun playing in there too. After the lagoon, we splashed and play at Tim-Buk-Tu, Sam’s Slamdunker pool, relaxed on the Lazy River and much more. You can read about all the indoor and outdoor attractions on their website, here.

After along time playing in the water, we decided to take a break and check out the arcade for the first time. The kids had a blast playing all different game. You can purchase a game card to use for the games and it was refillable too. This made it super easy to chase after the kids and not have to worry about money I was carrying. All the points you earn playing automatically go on the card and my daughter got to pick out a toy car for her little brother and some dinosaurs for her!

After the arcade we were all hungry and it was perfect timing, because Sahara Sams was hosting dinner for us.We got to eat some delicious foods.Their pizza was so good, that both my daughter and I had a slice! My daughter really loved their fries and chicken fingers, while my son munched down on hot dog and fries. The food was delicious. You can see all the delicious dining options here.

Once we finished eating we headed back inside to play some more. The kids and I had a blast. We always have such a fun time at Sahara Sams. What else is great is that they are currently expanding. They are opening a family leisure pool and two new waterslides, in a brand new 10,000 square foot addition called the Mirage. You can read all about it on their website here and head out to check it out when it officially opens on May 27th.

I will be heading back to Sahara Sams this June to explore their whole outside area, lounge in their cabanas and have fun in the new expansion area. You can read more about the waterpark and purchase tickets on their website, saharasams.com. Also save $6 a ticket when you purchase your 1-day pass online with promo code: AVENGER. (Code good for Sahara Sams or Diggerland USA Tickets.)

I want to thank Sahara Sams and Sharon for inviting us. We had such a fun time and look forward to our next visit.
